Question:
When I try to install Ruby In Steel on Windows Vista, the Installer shows an error stating: “The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2869.”
Resolution:
This error code indicates that you have attempted to install the software without the Administrator privileges which Vista requires. Try installing again: Select Setup.exe using the Windows Explorer. Right-click and, from the popup menu, select ‘Run as administrator’.
