Glossary Item Box

You may need to set the path to your Ruby interpreter or to a MySQL or SQL Server database server. These paths are set in the Options dialog (Tools, Options, Projects and Solutions, Ruby In Steel).

Path To The Ruby Interpreter

Ruby In Steel tries to auto-detect the path to the Ruby interpreter during installation. You can also specify a path in the Options dialog. This also gives you a simple way to switch between different Ruby interpreters if you wish to test an application using different Ruby versions.

The Ruby Path should be set to the directory containing the Ruby.exe interpreter. This is normally found in the \bin subdirectory beneath your Ruby installation.

Paths to Database Servers

Paths to the database severs are optional and are only required if you are using a database server - typically for Rails applications.
